Payment Options

Paying for your Checkerberries purchase is easy with our fully operational shopping carts. We accept all major credit cards through a secure payment server. You can also use paypal to pay for your order. Just use our shopping cart and click the Paypal button. Your order will quickly transfer directly to paypal.

We are also able to take credit card orders over the phone. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover over the phone. We are a small, family-run business and as such, we don't have customer service representatives. If you would like to call us, you will speak directly to us. Because of this also, we are not able to answer every call that comes in-but we try. If we cannot answer your call, please leave a voice message and we will promptly return your call.

If you would like to pay for your purchase using a cashiers check or money order, you can still use our shopping cart. When checking out, just click on the mail order button and print out the form that appears and mail it in with your payment. WE NO LONGER ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS. IF YOU SEND A CHECK, YOUR ORDER WILL BE RETURNED.

Shipping Methods & Times

All purchases made through our shopping cart system or through paypal, are generally shipped within two business days of receipt of payment. If it will be longer than one week, we will notify you. For the time being, we ship via USPS for lightweight items and UPS for all other items. We offer EXPEDITED service for an additional charge, which you'll notice when you check out.

We cannot absolutely guarantee delivery times. Generally, standard delivery takes about 4-7 business days. EXPIDITED shipping takes about 2-3 business days. BUT, please keep in mind the day and time that you place your order. We ship Tuesday through Saturday and orders placed after 12 noon Eastern time will not be processed until the next business day. Please don't assume that if you place your order by 11:59 a.m. that it will be shipped that same day. We try to get all orders out within two business days with preferential treatment to RUSH orders. We can't guarantee ship dates or arrival dates. If you have a tight timeframe, PLEASE call us so we can be aware and so we can help you choose the best shipping method.

We are also able to ship express/overnight but if you are interested in this service, you must call your order in to us. This way, we can let you know when your order will ship and when you should expect it and hopefully avoid confusion.

STANDARD ground deliveries & EXPIDITED deliveries are shipped on Tuesday through Saturday. During the Holiday season (starting in mid-November through December) we ship on Monday as well. If you have any questions or concerns about the delivery time, please call us and we can tell you the best method to choose to assure a timely delivery.

FREE SHIPPING

Orders over $75.00 will receive free standard shipping in the continental U.S. The carrier we use for our free shipping will be at our discretion but will most likely be UPS ground. Eligible orders being shipped to Alaska and Hawaii will still receive the free standard shipping but the shipping surcharge for these areas will still apply. Those who are eligible for free shipping, can also choose to EXPIDITE delivery. In these cases, the standard shipping rate is still free but the EXPIDITE service surcharge will still apply. International orders are not eligible for free or discounted shipping rates.

Shipping Charges

Our shipping charges are based on the dollar amount of the order. Occasionally, large orders for lightweight items (such as Miniature dolls) may be overcharged for shipping. If this is the case, we will adjust this before processing your order. This same is true for our optional shipping methods such as EXPIDITE, or INTERNATIONAL. If the item(s) ordered are lightweight, these optional shipping surcharges may be reduced. We prefer to ship heavy or bulky items by UPS and ask, if at all possible, that you please have your order shipped to a street address. If you choose to have your order shipped to PO box, there may be an additional charge for large or heavy items. We will notify you before shipping if there is any additional charge. Generally, shipping to a PO box will not incur any additional charges unless your item is large or heavy.

When placing an order, please be sure the shipping address is correct. There will be a $5.00 charge if UPS needs to make an address correction.

We try to keep our shipping costs as low as possible. Please keep in mind that we figure into our shipping charges the price for boxes, packing materials, insurance etc. The actual shipping charge may be less than what you paid but these are some of the unseen expenses that we must include in this price.

Returns

Shipping costs and return shipping costs are at the buyers expense. No refunds will be issued for shipping costs-the ONLY exception is if we made an error in processing or shipping your order.

To be eligible for a refund, returns must be made within 14 days of receipt. For returns made after 14 days but before 30 days, store credit will be issued. No returns will be accepted after 30 days.

Non-collectible items must be returned in the same condition in which it was shipped with any tags intact.

Collectible items, including, but not limited to collector dolls, can ONLY be returned in the same condition in which it was received. The collectible item and any box, certificates or accessories must be intact and free of deficit or damage. A restocking fee may be deducted from your refund/store credit if item was removed from box or is returned in any condition other than "mint/new". We reserve the right to reduce or refuse refund if the value of the item has been compromised.

Special Orders cannot be returned-no exceptions. See section on "Pre-orders & Special Orders" for more details

Sale Items cannot be returned-no exceptions.

Returned items that were shipped for free will have the exact shipping cost deducted from the refund. "Free shipping" items that are returned for replacement, will be charged the full shipping amount for the replacement item. In addition, EXPEDITED service charge is not refundable.

If you wish to return your purchase, you must call us or contact us by email first to obtain authorization. We reserve the right to refuse any unauthorized returns. If we decide to accept an unauthorized return, a 10% restocking fee will be deducted from your refund.

Damaged Items

If all or part of your order is damaged by the mail service, you must call us within 5 business days from delivery date. Please email us at contact@checkerberries.com for instructions. DO NOT return this item unless we instruct you to do so. The item must stay in your possession until the mail service investigates the damage claim. Failure to report damage in a timely manner or returning damaged item without authorization may result in the loss of your refund.

Pre-Orders & Special Orders

Pre-order items are items that are not currently in stock but are on order OR soon to be released items. You may purchase pre-order items just like any regular item. Pre-order items will be charged when they are in stock and ready to ship. We usually try to give an approximate availability date-but these dates can change. If you place an order that includes both "in stock" items and "pre-order" items, your order will ship in it's entirety when the pre-order item is available. If you want your in-stock items to ship immediately, it is best to place two separate orders. Pre-orders can be cancelled at any time providing it has not already been processed.

Special orders are items that we do not keep in stock and are not a regular part of our catalog. It is something that we order just for you, at your request. Special orders require a 50% deposit. The remainder is charged when the item is ready to ship. Cancellations must be received within 3 business days of the original order date and they are accepted only with the agreement that the buyer forfeits half of their deposit and that the other half of their deposit, along with any other monies, beyond the required deposit, paid toward the purchase price, will be refunded as store credit only. So, for example, if you were to special order a doll that is $300.00. We would require that a $150 deposit be made. If you cancel within 3 days of ordering, you would lose $75 of your deposit and the other $75 would be issued as a store credit. We will accept cancellations after 3 days ONLY with the agreement that the buyer forfeit 50% of their deposit and the remainder of their deposit will be given as a store credit ONLY if we secure another buyer for the item within 30 days. We apologize if this policy seems harsh but we cannot afford to tie up money in unwanted "Special Order" items and often have to discount them just to move them out. We refer any customer requesting a special order to this policy. Please make sure that you understand this and be absolutely sure that you want this item before asking us to special order it. SPECIAL ORDER ITEMS ARE NOT RETURNABLE-ABSOLUTLEY NO EXCEPTIONS
***NOTE*** Items under $50 can usually be special ordered without all this fuss and without a deposit required-but this is determined on a case-by-case basis.

 

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

We will happily accept international orders. The shipping charge shown on our online shopping cart may be adjusted depending on the weight and destination. The actual charge may be lower than what is initially shown. Heavy items may ship for more than what our shopping cart calculates. If the shipping charge will be higher, we will email you to gain your authorization before processing or shipping your order. All international orders are shipped airmail and in most cases this takes 6-8 days. However, there are some countries and some instances where it may take CONSIDERABLY LONGER. Customs can delay delivery times as well as the holiday rush. If your order is time-sensitive, we suggest ordering at least a month in advance.

Unfortunately, a few bad apples always spoil the bunch. Because of the increased incidence of international fraud, we must now take precautions with all international orders. All orders over $100.00, must be paid by Western Union wire transfer. We no longer accept credit card payments or Paypal payments from new international customers for orders over $100.00. For orders under $100.00, we will accept a credit card payment but shipping and billing address MUST be the same and the cvv security code on the credit card must match the bank's record. This policy will not apply to existing international customers-only to new or first time customers.

We ship international orders once a week-usually on Wednesday. All taxes and duties are the responsibility of the buyer and may be collected upon delivery. It is also the responsibility of the buyer to be aware of any and all of their country's customs regulations that pertain to their purchase. We will not falsify customs forms. The customs forms will be marked as "merchandise" and the amount that was paid to us for this merchandise will be listed as the value. We will not make any exceptions. It is the purchasers responsibility to be aware of the amount in duties they will be expected to pay. If you place an order with us, then decide to "return to sender" because the duties were "too high" or because you were unaware of customs regulations, any additional return postage that we are charged will be deducted from your refund. Furthermore, the original shipping charge is non-refundable.

 

PRIVACY

Checkerberries respects your privacy and are grateful for your patronage. We will NEVER disclose any personal information about our customers to anyone. We will never sell your email address or phone number. Rest assured, that what happens at Checkerberries, stays at Checkerberries:-) We do maintain an "Opt-in" mailing list and we send out emails maybe 6 or 10 times a year to announce Sales or new items. We DO NOT automatically add customers' email addresses to our mailing list. We don't make the assumption that just because you purchase something from us, that you want to receive email from us. If you want to join our list, you must fill out the opt-in form located on our homepage and our main catalog pages. We never wish to send unwanted email and you can opt-out of this list anytime by following the instructions in the email.

If you wish to contact us on a Sunday or Monday, when our store is closed, please email us. We often check our email several times a day, EVERY DAY.

Your satisfaction is the most important thing to us. If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase or our service, we will do whatever it takes to make your experience at Checkerberries a pleasant and satisfying one.
